1、 Due to the high integration of the Leeb hardness tester as an electronic measuring instrument, there is no display when the hardness tester is turned on Due to the fact that many Leeb hardness testers are designed to be powered by rechargeable batteries, which are connected in series as No. 5 rechargeable batteries. The service life of domestic rechargeable batteries is generally around a few hundred times. After a period of use, the battery will be damaged and unable to charge. Moreover, as the battery is located inside the host, most users cannot directly measure the voltage status of the battery pack. Meanwhile, due to the fact that the hardness tester cannot be turned on when connected to an external transformer for charging, users often assume that the hardness tester is malfunctioning. When this fault occurs, the screws on the back of the host need to be unscrewed, the back cover of the host needs to be opened, and the battery pack voltage needs to be measured with a multimeter. If the voltage of the battery pack still cannot reach 5V or above after charging, or if the voltage of a single battery cannot reach 1125V or above, the charging battery needs to be replaced. 2、 No display during measurement This fault is mostly caused by a problem with the connection line between the impact device and the host. It is necessary to check whether the impact device socket is tightly connected and whether the impact device coil is open circuited. A multimeter can be used to measure the two wiring ports of the impact device. If the resistance value is infinite, it indicates that the coil is open circuited. The disconnected part should be checked and reconnected. 3、 Indication exceeds the tolerance The main reasons for the deviation of the Leeb hardness tester reading are as follows: ① Impact ball head wear The impact body is a consumable part, and over time, the ball head will wear out. Therefore, if the reading of the Leeb hardness tester is not accurate, the first thing to check is whether the impact ball head has been worn. If it has been severely worn, it needs to be replaced. ② Inaccurate impact height There is a metal hook inside the impact device. When measuring, press the release button to open the metal hook and release the impact body. If the hardness tester is used for a long time, the metal hook may become loose, causing a change in the initial position of the impact body, resulting in inaccurate impact height and affecting the impact speed. The typical manifestation of this fault is the repeatability deviation of the hardness tester. At this point, it is necessary to remove the top release button of the impact device and re fix the metal hook. ③ Oil stains on impact pipelines and impact bodies Due to the frequent presence of dirt such as oil and dust in the measurement samples, the hardness tester may bring dirt into the impact pipeline after use, affecting the impact speed. Therefore, after a certain period of use, the hardness tester should be cleaned with a brush to clean the impact pipeline and impact body. When cleaning the pipeline, first unscrew the support ring, remove the impact body, and then screw the nylon brush counterclockwise into the pipeline until it reaches the bottom and then pull it out. Repeat this process several times until the pipeline is completely cleaned. Also note that lubricants cannot be used inside the impact device. ④ Insufficient power supply voltage The Leeb hardness tester is powered by batteries, and its accuracy of indication is closely related to the supply voltage. Insufficient voltage can affect the internal reference voltage value of the hardness tester, resulting in inaccurate measurement data and exceeding the indication tolerance. Some hardness testers have a voltage detection function, which prompts when the battery voltage drops to a critical value and automatically shuts down, but some hardness testers do not have this function or this function is disabled. Therefore, users should pay attention to keeping the hardness tester fully charged. ⑤ Changes in internal benchmark values If the circuit of the hardness tester malfunctions or undergoes maintenance, its internal reference value will change, so it is necessary to recalibrate the readings 4、 After the impact body of the Leeb hardness tester is magnetized, the collected signal changes, resulting in a display value that may be larger or smaller. This situation requires returning to the factory for repair. 5、 When the Rockwell hardness tester is used to measure the Rockwell value, the displayed value may deviate significantly from that of a desktop computer. The solution to this situation is to use a desktop computer to accurately value the workpiece at 60HRC, and then use a portable Leeb hardness tester to test it in Rockwell units. If 50HRC is displayed, repeat the test 5 times, and it is still around 50HRC. Then add 10HRC to this to obtain the accura
